Well, we're 2 months into this whole youth ministry business at OLM. I figured I would try out a blog since I love to ramble about things and I'm unfortunately confined to 90 minutes at the meetings. This way I can talk all I want; plus it will give you mad reading skillz, improve your eyesight, and maybe even make you a crossword pro (tip #1, if the clue is plural, the word most likely has an S at the end, which will help you fill in other words). I got really good at crosswords in college, though sometimes at the expense of my taking in the lecture material.
I'm really excited about how things have been going so far. The Halloween party was awesome. I'm not sure how the pumpkins managed to crack perfectly in half instead of smashing into a million pieces, but that works for me (I clean up after youth ministry stuff in my spare time). Not to mention the blowout game of Googa Mooga we played (undoubtedly the biggest game ever played in NJ with 50+ kids and 80 pounds of flour). The big events have been great, but the weekly meetings have been great too. It's not about the numbers (as evidenced by my salary among other things), but we really have a solid core of people in both the middle school and high school groups, and it will be great going forward from here.
I think I'll stop at 2 paragraphs this time and see if anyone actually reads this. See you Wednesday (or Sunday if you're a middle school student...or probably never if you're some random guy reading this).
